Michael has been a member of the staff at Advanced Vision Care – Nashville since 2012. He is a graduate of Nashville Community High School. Michael’s college education began at Southwestern Illinois College where he played golf on a scholarship. He then attended the University of Kentucky in Lexington for one year, and it was there that he first declared his path to Optometry. Michael went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale with a major in biological sciences and a minor in chemistry. Currently, he is enrolled at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, where he is in his second year of study for his Doctorate of Optometry. Michael expects to graduate in the spring of 2017 and join his brother, Dr. Joshua Wilson, as an optometrist at Advanced Vision Care – Nashville.
Michael works at the optometry office in Nashville during his breaks from school and is responsible for pre-testing patients and assisting the eye doctors as a scribe during exams. He also helps the other staff members by taking and making phone calls, filing, and assisting with various other office tasks. Michael enjoys serving patients who are from his small town community and appreciates the opportunity to meet new patients from surrounding towns. He believes that good eye health contributes to better overall health, and he is proud to help people achieve that.
In his free time, Michael is an avid sports fan and enjoys watching basketball, golf, and football. His favorite teams are the St. Louis Cardinals, the Dallas Cowboys, the UK Wildcats, and of course, the Nashville Hornets and Hornettes. He also loves spending time with his fiancé, Ashley Harre of Nashville, and the rest of his family. Michael’s hobbies include playing golf and basketball, boating, hunting, and other outdoor activities in general.
